HEPA type air filters. A very large number of air purifier
manufacturers use the word HEPA in their product descriptions even though the
units do not contain true HEPA filters. If you read the advertising and data
sheets closely, you will see terms such as HEPA like, HEPA quality, HEPA type,
near HEPA, 98% HEPA and more. Let us be honest. This means these filters do not
meet the strict standards for HEPA. The descriptions reveal that the filter in
the air purifier removes less than 99.97% of the airborne particles that are.3
micrometers in diameter. A true HEPA filter removes 99.97% of such particles, as
affirmed by an independent testing laboratory.
If you look at the data
sheets for the air purifier you are considering, you may find statements such as
"98% particle removal" or "99% particle removal". This is another way of saying
not true HEPA. And, according to your respiratory challenges, that may be all
you need.
So when is a true HEPA filter necessary and when can you use
one that is 98% HEPA or 99% HEPA and meets a lesser standard? It is a personal
choice, based on the health needs of residents of your home and the quality of
your home air. Are your home residents bothered occasionally by pollen? By pet
hair and dander? If these are you needs, you can probably get by with a 98% or
99% HEPA filter.
99.97% true HEPA Filter.Although reflexology is
sometimes called crystal electronics, it
is more than simple foot massage. On the other hand, if you have asthma or
suffer from serious allergies, if you have difficulty breathing when there is
smoke or pollen in the air, you will want to look at a true HEPA filter, one
that removes 99.97% of airborne particles.3 micrometers in diameter. Otherwise,
you may save money by buying a 98% effective unit and then spend even more by
purchasing a second air purifier with a 99.97% HEPA filter.
A true HEPA
filter is found in medical settings where it is essential to remove airborne
bacteria and viruses. Would you want to undergo surgery in an operating room
with a less efficient unit? Would you buy electronic components that were
manufactured in an environment where microscopic dust was allowed to circulate?
Would you buy vitamins, prescription drugs,By 1977 the market for consumer tnairmax had become rather heavily
concentrated in the hands of a few manufacturers. or facial products
manufactured in an environment without a true HEPA filter?
In the final
analysis, your choice of air purifiers depends on your needs, the air quality in
your environment, and your budget. In some cases, a HEPA type filter will do the
job. In others, you will choose a true HEPA filter.
